Jens Leuchters, General Manager Central and Eastern Europe at NTT Europe says, “This is our sixth PoP in Germany. It’s evidence of how important the European network is right now and demonstrates our strength in the market. Our customers are growing and choosing to set up new offices in Munich due to its strong economy.” Leuchters continues, “With PoPs already deployed throughout Europe’s most important internet hubs, we’re looking forward to continued expansion.”
NTT Communications has a large customer base in Germany and a growing base in Munich. This new PoP is part of a company initiative to broaden its reach in Europe and deliver its Tier-1 network closer to its customers. With two PoPs in Dusseldorf and three in Frankfurt, this additional PoP will give ISPs and content network providers direct access to NTT Communications’ high-capacity, Tier-1 backbone network, providing high-speed and low-latency network connections.
Travian Games, a German free-to-play online games publisher and developer, with releases in over 40 native languages and in more than 200 countries, needed one supplier that could provide managed data centre services and the provision of associated data centre, office and internet connections.
Christian Pitsch, Director System Operations at Travian Games comments, “Travian Games requires high-quality, low-latency access for over 120 million worldwide customers, which as a Tier-1 network provider, NTT Communications can offer us. We chose them over other suppliers as they can provide all the services we need.” Pitsch continues, “We trust that NTT can support us with whatever technical challenges we may come across and the team has been great to deal with. They fit perfectly into supporting us with our global expansion.”
